Awesome

Worked on getting my next journal together. I am going for a different shape. I think this one will be finished fast due to me using a lot of arted on papers. It is also not as many pages as some. I just need to sew on some stuff and add some awesome findings my Sis gave me last year.

Almost done here

Here are some recent pictures from my everyday journal.

The blue on this page I did in Traci Bautista's class.

Here is a photo transfer of baby at the Bulldog.

Having a peachy king at daily grind.

Misc drawing.

Ok... I am posting more so far so good. I might even post again today.

New Tools

Got a new I pod and I hope it will boost my ability and opportunity to post stuff. Here is my latest addition to my dunny collection.

Almost Done with a Batch of 5 Journals

I think these turned out well, they just look a bit sparse/empty without any real embelishments.

the turquiose one is my favorite, but I would pick up any of them for myself if they do not sell.

I just finished the first layer of sewing on the covers and added the tie strips today. I will have to photo the covers next. I have posted a bunch more pictures on my Flikr site.

five books in progress

Here is the last one at this stage. I am getting the pages layed out for sewing. I hope to photo the others soon.

Birthday Dinner

Joe took me to the super special, super ritzy Root 246 in Solvang for my Birthday. It was AWESOME!!!!!!!! Here we are having the yummy bread (blue corn bread was my fave). Even the water was special!
We got an appetizer that was 1/2 lobster tail and rock shrimp raviolis...Wow! The waiter poured some sort of broth over it after he set it down. It was the juices it had cookked in. The sause was so good you were tempted to drink it.

I got the chicken dish. Those are fuji apples on top and mashed potaoes undernieth. It was sooooooo good OMG!! I want it again and again!

I ate ever inch...minus the raisins and sprouts. I had to restrain myself from licking the plate.

The deserts we had were amazing too. Simple, yet way not simple. Pictures here is one of the samplers of their in house ice cream. It was peanutbutter and sea salt. There was chocolate in it too. I'd pay $25 for a half pint I tell you what!!

We then went back into the kitchen and met the chef. He signed my menu! It was such a perfect little birthday getaway!!

Travel Journal for a Friend

A friend at work went on a trip to Hawaii and asked if I could make her something like the journal I did for that on-line class I took.

I like the way it turned out. It did not take me near as long to make as the originals. I hope to find time to make more to sell at the Queen of Arts show this year. I am not sure if this is the year it will happen or not. Cannot think about it yet.

Pretty Day

I pass by these flowering trees every day on my way to work. I finally found a day to stop and grab a few pictures.
I wish I had had the time to cut some branches somewhere when they were just budding so I could put them in a vase and watch them bloom in my home. I love the way they make me feel. I have almost bought fake ones so many times, but it could never be the same.

By the time I could get to taking these pictures, the petels were starting to thim and the bright green leaf shoots were begining to show.

As the days went on (they are all gone now) I watched as the breeze gently blew all the blossoms away...sigh. Maybe next year I will get some branches to share the magic with my daughter.

I love you mocha entry

White and dark chocolate mocha from crushcake cafe called "I love you mocha" with dark chocolate heart sprinkles home made whip cream and red sugar crystals. Made beautiful entry on this page.

Could not help myself ... I had to buy these amazing cans of spraypaint. Now I just need to find some time to use them. Might be this weekend. Just have to see. I better get a plan just in case it works out.

New covers new journal

That is an odd and cryptic title. Kinda like a news article lol. I loved LE 's class and I am liking the new journal. I just changed the cover. Now I just need a picture to put in the window. I love looking at all the stickers. I flip through the pages a lot trying to find places for things and plan out the pages I want to cover up.

New back cover

I added a dunny package and a bunch more of my favorite stickers to the back cover. It was pink like the front. Not sure of the new covers work, but I like them.

Unfinished entry

One of the 1st entry in my new journal. Still needs some work on the photo. It needs a boarder of some sort. Maddie already drew on it a little.

Maddie and my new journal

LE 's class was so great. I even have a journal to show for it. Maddie did great in class too. I will have to post what I do in it. I got a bunch done on the remains of the day journal too.

Fw: Good morn

Just dropped off maddie and I'm grabbing some me time before I go home and pack up for an amazing day!

I can get so much done....not :)

Trying to work on the journal again...got my little "helper" with me. Although she is super cute and very cuddly in my lap, it is very hard to sew with 1 1/2 hands.

After an entire day, I did manage to sew my short pages to size and make some clear pages. Next I hope to work on embelishing the pages. I am excited because, although I am super sick with a dumb cold, I am going to try and sew some more tomorrow while Maddie is in school. I hope to get a long, healing nap after getting her to school, get the stuff around my bed cleared away for the new bed comming on Fri, and sew a little in my journal.....could happen.

Covers Almost Done

I think this is upsidedown hehe. This is the normal size journal I am doing for "the Remains of the Day". I sewed the cover and the tie on, but I still have some details I would like to add.

This is the smaller one. I have aspirations of making this my daily journal. I have decided to use nothing but handmade journals I made this year for the one I carry daily and that they will all be short so I will finish many over this year of 2010! My next journal will be made using as many stickers as I can. I have a big overstock of stickers...I love stickers! It is a big weakness of mine. I hope to make the journal in the same fashion as the remains journals. I am a bit ahead of myself though (LOL) I have not sewn any pages for these two yet. I have a bunch of stuff ready for steps 1 and 2 .... I hope to get to those before I get anymore done with the covers. Just waiting for good op to do the first part of the sewing of the pages.

Here is the SB dog mascot dressed pretty ellaborate this year for the holidays. Hope everyone enjoyed the Holidays this year!! HAPPY NEW YEAR Y'ALL!!!!!

Remains of the Day On-Line Journal Class

Remains of the Day Class by Mary Ann Moss:

So far, SOOOOO fun :). I started 2 books! I am itching to get the covers done enough to add the tie and be able to start on the pages. Maybe today? Then onto the new page videos!

Multitasking?

I'm at work catching up on x-ray printing and lunch and the on line journal class videos. Hmmmmm

Christmas is Comming

MMMM Christmas party at Opals for work this year. The Brulet said "Enjoy"....

So I did :)

I put up my tiny tree this year...I'm liking it. Nothing like some lights to make you smile!

Art Clinic Art Christmas Party

Had the Chistmas party at the Art Clinic. I had a lot of fun! It is so rare lately to have the time to just do art. So rare infact that I got all worked up with the idea of getting something done or finished, brought a ton of stuff to sort through or finish, and ended up starting a new project which I got a bit intimidated by and did not finish....not even close. So my only goal I completed was the ornament.

Calling this bird "the New Bird". It was gifted to a very happy participant in the ornament exchange. I threw the feet on last minute before the trade. It turned out pretty good. I hope to find the time to finish something sometime soon that I had started LOL

Art Party at the Set Clinic

Still trying to finish the ornament for the exchange. Cutting it close LOL. I got less than an hour. It is a bird if you can't tell. Hehe

Trailers are Finished!

I lost one to a bad chain link, but 4 made it and they look great! Yay! Now onto the next project: ornament exchange on the 10th. I am excited but nervous about getting it done and achieving my expectations. Being a mommy and an artist is so hard, but wonderful.

Soooooooo close to finished but not :( I am sure tonight will be plenty of time to finish it.
