A Little more paint on my Hearts

No, I did not make these, but aren't they beautiful? Catherine Chandler is the silversmith this time and a trip to her Blog and Etsy site is worth the trip.
Here are the hearts so far.  I just want to add one more element and they will be done.
Here is another peak at the Saturday extravaganza at the Art Clinic.  I will have to post a bunch more (or a link to my Flickr) when my headache is gone.

Hard to tell from these two photos, but it was so fun!! Check out my Mom's Blog for more info....head hurts....pressing post....night night

Being sick Sucks!

Saturday was very nice, but today is terrible. Terrible cause I am sick that is. I did get a super rare nap though! Wow. Too bad I need more sigh! I am all inspired with no energy to execute.

I got to borrow pallets from some super artists and clean off all the unused paint on some random papers I plan to use in journals.

I opened up my old mural screen and tried to fantasize about working on it. I hope to start back on it by the end of Feb. Feels good to push some paint around but I am nervous to start cause it seems like an eternity since I painted.

Mom looks awesome in my new wig. The color so works with her and her color style. I like it but it is so hard to hide my dark hair.

The Art Clinic is Buzzing with Inspiration

I will post better pictures from my real camera later. Being surrounded buy juicy paint and the bustle of creative artists all around is almost too much to bear. I was really enjoying the vibe although I was a bit occupied by my sweet happy daughter.

I did manage to grab s bit of paint myself and get some color on my big Valentine heart pieces.

They are coming along. I bet 2 more trips to the studio and they will be finished.

I have a small possibility that I might make it back to the studio before they all leave. Crossing fingers!

Mom's Birthday Art Day

Dropped off Baby and headed for Corner Coffee for my pep talk to self hehe.

Journaled and made lists.

Made it to the studio yay!

Got all my stuff out and realized I did not have any wall paper paste to do any paper mâché. I did have more hearts ready for gesso than I thought.

First of the 2 small journals is now finished and everyone seemed to enjoy it.

Took a Birthday Lunch break with awesome cake (so pretty!) from the Solvang Bakery.

I finished the other small journal too.

And I am now laying the gesso on the hearts but they will not be dry enough to add color until maybe this weekend. Progress is progress though.

Finally Finished These Up!

Feels very nice to have these done and posted on my etsy shop site.

I hope the photos look good in Etsy. It is so hard to tell with my messed up graphics card on my PC. I know the pics here are a bit grainy, but what do you expect from my I-touch hehe.

These heart earrings really are one of my total favorites. I had a necklace I used to make and wore one a lot, and I could not believe the outpouring of compliments on it!

I had a coworker that loved hearts. She got a pair of earrings just like these and she wore them almost everyday. They always put a smile on her face. I wish I had time to really pump these out. Oh well, at least I got these 4 pair. I hope to work on the journals tomorrow and get those done and listed too! I think that will be kind of a tall order with the house chores I have planned and work on Monday. I am sure I will get them close enough to have them listed by the end of next week.

Journals Close To Done

The board for the covers were all cut (plus extras for next time) and the fabric sewn ready to attach to the board and then add signatures.

Always fun to see how my same old fabric gets cut and resorted into something new.

Both the covers came out well and well suited to their soon to be interiors.

One more session and they will be done!

I got sabotaged on the ear-wires and will have to finish those this week. I packed the wrong gauge wire in my jewelry kit. Ph well, at least I moved forward on some fronts!

Hearts Enameled

Hearts enameled and ready for ear-wires.

I love this color on these! It is the only glass enamel I have hehe. Maybe someday I might get a good green and a good turquoise...and maybe a pinkish orange. I want to make the ear-wires with a special spiral to complete the look. I hope to finish these tonight. (crossing fingers)
Off to breakfast with Baby and family for now.

OK What do You Think?

I am Testing the market to see if there is an interest.  I want to make "Mommy Necklaces" with a bird twist.  You have seen all the monogram and name necklaces out there, what do you think of my version?
I have 2 styles of songbird silhouette and then You would custom order you letter with a birth date or tiny message stamped into the back and pick from my small stone bead collection for the color drop.  Do you think I should try to market these?  I really like them.
And here are my copper hearts all cleaned up and ready for some shaping and a beautiful coat of red glass.

Out to Lunch

And in the sun!

I picked up some more ranucullas (still cannot spell it) at the farmer's market in Goleta. I got an avocado too for lunch tomorrow. Yum! I hope to work on my earrings this weekend and the covers to those 2 journals. I feel I have a materials enough to start 2-4 more. I really like this size better than the 6x8 ones. I just need to paint up some security envelopes and stuff. I have some pictures I want to load off my real camera too. Hoping to do that today. I love my Touch for the quick uploads, but the photos are just a bit grainy, not as crisp as the real camera deal. Hehe

More Projects Started

The two journals I started got closer to finished this weekend. Both books have their 2 signatures totally sewn and finished.

Now all they need are the cloth and board covers made.

And I also made a stop in the jewelry studio and started up 4 pairs of heart earrings for my shop yay!

Wait till you see then finished! I have not made them for a while, but they were a favorite of my customers (and me).

They will be enameled with a deep red color and fit with handmade ear wires.

Journaling at Lunch

Went to the Kahuna in Goleta for lunch on Thursday. It felt so good to finally get a bit of time to myself and relax.

I even got to pull out my journal and play a little with some of the Seattle pictures I printed out.

The Kahuna used to have a beautiful salt water tank, but it has been pretty sick looking fir a long time now. Gotta love the huge tikis though!

After lunch I noticed the Farmer's Market was all set up so I decided to take a stroll. I got some beautiful and inspiring renecullas (spelling?) I love their color and shape. So sweet.

The clouds have been odd all day. See... Off in the distance are some very sci fi looking formations. Never seen formations like that on dark, thick rain clouds. Hmm

All in all it was a super nice, all be it too long, lunch break.

Yay! I Started Some New Journals

I am so happy I found some art time this 3 day weekend! And I was very productive. I started 2 new journals that I will be adding to my Etsy site.

These 2 are more like the one I am carrying with me right now. The pages are 4 by 6 inches. I like the size because it is just big enough to add photos and leaves a small bit of room to

Add text. I made the two pretty similar.

I used a lot of the paper I decorated myself and there are some real juicy pages at that.

At the end of my art time I have the insides of 1 book (2 signatures) finished, sewn and ready for a cover, and another 2 signatures ready to sew. Now I just need a day to finish the signatures and make 2 covers. Woot! When they are done I will post a ton of pictures in my Flickr and add them to my shop. Sure felt nice to get that much done. I plan on making more paper clay tags too. I just need to grab my box of handmade stamps from the old old studio.
