Another Great Weekend!!

I just got back from visiting my sister and her husband down in LA. SOooOOooOoo much fun! I am now working on an addiction to World of Warcraft. I am really going to have to budget my time now :) My sis took me to all these great places I had always wanted to go. GR2, GReats, and just GR, all of which were so cool!! I was very good not to buy everything in sight (because you know I wanted to). The food at GReats was very unique, and tasted amazing too. Who would have thought that frenchfries, yams and BANANAS would all taste so good together (there could have been more bananas..those were surprisingly tasty). And the burger was yummy. We went to a Japanese market after that and found lots of goodies. As if all that was not enough, we all got gussied-up and went to Hollywood to a place called the Geisha House for dinner. WOW! I cannot describe how cool that was, you will have to find their site. We then topped the whole thing off with a movie at the Arclight theater. LE was hot to see The Illusionist. It was a very good movie. The way it was filmed really set a mood. The score was perfect for the movie and LE said they used some sort of old style filming process which was subtle, but put a perfect visual effect to match the essence of the movie. If only we did not require sleep. I say that because it was so fun to play World of Warcraft with LE and Jon...with our cute posey of Taurens (cows). I have purchased my own game and I am working on getting it started right now, but it is already so late so I will probably have to do the trial run tomorrow :( Well I better get ready for bed...Nite!

I Had a Nice Weekend

Thursday after work I drove to Monterey to meet up with Donn for our 4 year wedding anniversary. We went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium on Friday and just hung out in Monterey Saturday. Sunday we went to breakfast and parted ways. I miss him a lot. For Sunday's drive back, I decided to take Hiway 1 all the way. I stopped many times to take photos or do a sketch. I ate at Nepenthe (photo in "View" entry) and browsed the phoenix shop. Lots of great jewelry there. All the views were so beautiful! I ended the trip with my last bit of money at Haufragh's (not spelled right) in Morro Bay for a beef dip sandwich. This weekend I plan on seeing my sister in LA, that should be a blast!! I better finish my project I am working on and get to bed. I am exhausted!!

Heat Wave Finally Over, For Now

The temperature is finally livable in my room again. There was a period where I did not even want to turn on my computer in fear of it overheating. I am almost done with the Copper and Green True Colors II journal. Maybe one more night on it. I have to do some scanning this weekend. Tomorrow is Santa Barbara's Fiesta! They let us out half day from work to enjoy the festivities. I am really looking foreword to it, but do not want to stay out too late. I want to do something fun this weekend, but I do not know what yet. I hope to workout a bit. I have been good, but I have some catching up to do from when I was in Shasta. I want to loose more around my belly and upper thigh. Who doesn't though:) Only 11 pages left in my journal I carry in my purse. I cannot decide on which one will be my next one. I am liking the doodling mixed in with the life sketches and the "diary"-like entries. This one might set a precedent for the rest. I would like to get in a few more pasted and acrylic-ed pages. I am always wanted more color too. I need to get these jewelry pieces done. I feel I have been working on them way too long (procrastinating yet again) That is something I should work on this weekend, even if it is just a little bit. Maybe that is something I could go to the beach to work on. And my tan ;) I better get to bed. Toodles!

Trip to Getty and a Dodger Game

Went to The Getty for a sketchcrawl, but could not find anyone. That place is huge! So pretty and only cost $7. Amazing! Too hot though, but so was ... everywhere. I hope everyone posts their work since I was not able to meet up. I had never been there before and cannot wait to go back ... when it is cooler.

Went to my sister and her husband's new place and dipped in her pool after the Getty then we all went to a Dodger Game. It was 98 at the game and the Dodgers lost. It was fun though, and it did cool off towards the end.

Wow Has it been hot. I am not sleeping well at all. It is going on 3 weeks straight now! Enough already! The whole country is too hot. Man I wish I had AC. It is late and I have work tomorrow so I better at least try to sleep before then. It is now 87 in my room.

Mount Shasta

Just got back from Shasta, but I have been working so much, I have not caught my breath yet. I better get to bed it is late.

Zebra is Done!

ALLRIGHT...i FINISHED THE bLACK, wHITE, AND oNE cOLOR jOURNAL!!!!!The paper was black so I used white ink with a dip pen to draw all the white stripes (took me a total of like 5 hours just to do that part). I will post a detail later so you can see what I mean. I hope Toni likes it, it is not like any of the other entries. I better get off to bed now.

Procrastinating..Or is it Just too Hot

I was hopping to have the TC II Journal done and sent by today, but did not plan for its large size. The spread is like 24" by 12". I have started my Zebra, But I am not quite halfway done. I will work on it today and hope to finish it. I am off to Dinosaur Caves with Mom tomorrow. I hope to do some sketching and some tanning. We might go to Nacho Libre in Santa Maria after that, on the way home. Monday at work will be totally crazy!! I am sure it will be a late night and very hard to get a lunch. We have been spoiled by our savior, Nancy being in town for the las few weeks and helping us out. It will be an adjustment now that she is back in Oaklahoma. Then The 4th of July I have a bit of work to do and the I am off to Shasta! Donn is bummed I will not be there 'till later that night, but I am not going because of the holiday, I am going to see him. Oh well. I am hopping the trip goes well, it will be a lot of driving in the heat and a lot of $$$ in the gas tank. I hope to see the new Pirates of the Caribbean wile I am up there. I just joined the new 1001 Journals. I hope to get some journals to work on. I think I will make a couple to put in coffee shops in SB. I hear they are always stollen. If that is the case I hope to get some scans or photos in before that happens. Maybe I should get one ready for the next ATC swap at Good Cup in SB. I better get cracking on some ATCs too. That is comming up! Well it is noe 78 in my room so maybe I will go to the studio and get to work. It should still be somewhat cool in there. Started a game called Paradise. I will play somemore tonight. It is a bit teadious but the effects and backgrounds are cool. Keep Cool!!

Here are Some Sketches

I have been wanting to post these sketches, but had to wait for the DSL. I will post a photo of the Black, White and One other color True Colors II Journal page when I finish it. So far I have the image traced onto the pages. The pages are almost 12" by 12" and I am doing a spread so it is a large order to fill.
I have some more sketches that I will post later. The top one is my favorite.

F I N A L L Y !!!!! Okay...now I have a lot of scanning and a few big photo posts to make. It is very hot in my room right now, so I think I will go get some icecream before begining this large task. I also got my next True Color 2 Journal. I need to figure out what I will do in it tonight and get it started tomorrow. Mom is off at FiberFest in Washington and Dad is in Roswell New Mexico for a new beattle meet. Sounds like they are both having a ton of fun. I cannot wait to hear all the stories.

Too Bad I Cannot post Photos right now

I finished some real cool ATCs last night using my jewelry templates I cut for the crow necklaces. I will scan them tonight, but I will not be able to show them here until my computer get DSL again(still crossing fingers). I am still tired, but I am still being good about working out. I wish working out was not such a time sucker though. It is usually 8 PM before I am done with getting home, working out and eating dinner. On top of that, it can take about 1 hour to get the juices flowing and the art rolling. Anyway... I better get some lunch before my break is done. LATERRR

Still No DSL

I am blogging from work today so again, no photos. I have to get some ATCs done for the monthly trade this Wed. and I have 3 crow necklaces 1/4 of the done. I also want to work out and go to dinner with the folks. Maybe I will have to miss dinner. I am so tired right now that I cannot imagine I could get any of it done. Well my patient just showed up, so I better clock in and get back to work.

DSL Still Down

Ever since I have moved, my DSL has been "pending" I waited 3 weeks and nothing. After hours of haggling now I have to wait another three weeks. The weird thing is that they will be sending me a new modem. That will be the 3rd they have sent me!? Getting mad has gotten me no where. The madder I got the bigger the lies and promises given by the operators got. SOOO LAME!!!!! I have like 70 e-mails and my phone or my mom's computer is the only way I can view them. I cannot do any downloads or updates for my computer and it sucks. They better get it right this time!!! I will not know until June 26th. I am crossing my fingers, but I am afraid I am jinxed or something. And to top it off...I cannot use my computer at work because it is never available. Today it was available, but the internet connection was on the fritz...typical! I better get back to my jewelry...sorry, no pictures until the DSL works.

Back Again

I goofed off most of yesterday and yes, I deserved it! It was the first time in a long while. I just had a few naps and watched some TV. I pet my cat a lot and played a computer game too. So today I need to make up a bit for the lost time. I have a myriad of things I should do...making jewelry is at the top of the list. I will have a chance to get some jewelry into Imagine Gallery again..maybe, I need to get ready for a class I will be teaching on making a necklace, laundry, sort thru some boxes, and get my coputer situation organized. I still do not have DSL. I am suppossed to have it this Tue.. That is 1 whole month I have been without it and it has sucked!! I will be able to post some pictures again when it is up. I should work on some ATC today too. I am hoping to find out by June 10th if our yearly big artshow will be at Elverhoy Gallery or at the Ballard house again so I can advertise at the class. I have started work on a couple things already and I need to pick up the pace. I have NO inventory and will be in a lot of trouble down the road if I do not start building that up! I should alo get to my new jewelry studio (area) and get it ready to run. Well lets hope the allergy medicine does not bog me down 'cause I gots a lot of work to do. TGI-3 day weekend!!

I Moved

Now I just have to get the appartment cleanned. A new deadline of the 10th. I am just going to make it. Of course I could have not done any of this without all the help from my Mom and Dad. Wow do I owe them big time! I have been on my feet way too long and they are killing me! I better go...I have to be at work 30 min. early. Blech!!

Packing Packing Packing and Working

I am exhausted!!! My mind is scrambled. It is very hard to pack at night and work durring the day. It might not be so bad if my job was easy, but it is not. We are gearing up for the summer season. I am tying to be good and stay in shape too, which I should just put on hold 'til I am done with moving, but I really want to loose weight darn it! So I work all day, run errands, drive home(40min), eat, go to the gym, come home and pack, shower then bed....YUCK! No wonder I cannot sleep. Anyway.... art is on hold for a bit, but then I plan to SPLURGE!! with art that is. One and a half more weeks and it will be a done deal. I better get back to what ever I was doing...I don't even know where I am right now.

Let's Try and Recap

It has been a long time since I have blogged. I am moving at the end of this month so all is a bit crazy and I do not get on the computer much. I finished and sent of the true colors II book (the bird) that was a fun one and I sent it off early. I went to an art class in Santa Anna wich was fun. I made a long and narrow journal. It is sewn together but not finished. I learned some new techniques in acrylic. I went to see Donn. We met in Oakland and got free passes to Great America. The Invertago (behind Donn's head) was the BEST ride!! So scary! But the bumper cars with our large group was really fun. Next time I see Donn it will be amoungst total chaos and stress: i.e. THE MOVE. Crazy!
I went to an opening at UCSB for the journals of Dan Eldon. That was really neat to see then in person and hear his mom speak and see all his friends he had photoed in his journals, but I sometimes forget how snotty Santa Barbarians can be. I will have to go back with mom sometime and get a better look. This was one of the journals. I would post the green beer and my last ATCs but I am logged into the wrong part of my computer.
My car got hit by a rock on the way home from seeing Eldon's show :( It luckily only took out half of one headlight. My high beems and day lights do not work, only the regular headlights. I hope to get that fixed soon. Well I better get off to the gym, check on an item in Solvang and then get back to cleaning, sorting and packing. Way too much to do!!

St Patrick's Day

Had a great time this year for St. Patricks Day. Finally had my green beer! I dreamed about it ever since I turned 21, and it finally happened. It was not how I pictured it though. I always imagined a frosty mug with green beer with a big, green foamy head on it. I will post the picture later. Last year was nice too (Ithink it was last year). I went to the Mercury Lounge and drank a few guiness in which the bar tender poured a clover design into its head. Very classy. There was also a pot luck on the pool table, a real intimate homey feeling. Donn went to the billy goat and drank guiness and harp all night. We both had fun. I am off to get my cornedbeef and potatoes (do not like cabbage too much) Later

scetchcrawl downtown LA

It is fun to work on colored paper with white water color paint. So much fun! I did start sewing that purse. It is smaller that I thought it was going to be. Maybe next time I will have to alter the pattern. I always wanted a cool artsy purse and now it is halk way made! Next will be to finish that and get onto the jewelry. I also want to work in one of my journals and add birds like the ones I made for the ATC SB trade. I will post those later. Still feel overwhelmed with all the stuff I want to do. I will either have to get more efficient with my time or learn to live with this feeling. Bye

Just Got Back

Just got back from the So Cal sketchcrawl with Danny Gregory. That was a lot of fun!! I cannot wait to go back and bring Mom. We could take the Amtrak up and back. Union Station is picturesque and Olivera St. is too with its old style buildings and beautiful park. Not a good place to be alone tho, and the parking was confusing. I will post the pictures tomorrow. Donn has survived some very cold nights up in Shasta. It was 20 degrees last night there..BUURRrrr. Wish I was there to snuggle up:) It was supossed to rain the whole day in LA and it did not rain the whole time! What good fortune. Well I am exhausted! I am off to bed early with the kitty after a nice hot shower.

My Brain is on Fire

I am neurotically straightening the house. I really need to get to some art work. Tonight I have an ATC deadline so I hope to get to that. There is so much I want to do and so little time that I have a hard time getting started. So much jewelry, paper arts, video games, computer downloads, cleaning and sorting to do. I just pace the house doing small things here and there, it is not efficient. I did lay down and relax last night. I think that is a step in the right direction. I want to sew a purse, finish Donn's ring, finish LE's charm, and do a bunch of ATCs for tomorrow. I am out of breath again just thinking about it. Lets hope SOMETHING gets done. I will try and post photos of what ever I do. Later...

Donn is Now in Shasta

Mom came over today and really helped me kick start the cleaning of my appartment. I cannot wait to get started on the rest. I also cannot wait to get some projects done. I am keeping as busy as I can to keep from getting too lonely with Donn gone. It sounds like he is doing the same. I miss him and wounder what he is doing. He said it was snowing up there. I wish I was there and could play in the snow. It is good to finally have the time and "space" to go thru everthing and weed out as much as I can. Boy is there going to be some great art stuff for who ever is lucky enough to catch my art garage sale. No time prediction yet. I do need to get going and go thru ALL my collage stuff and old wrapping paper for mom to take to Art Fest. It is so much easier to get rid of art stuff when you know it will go to good use. Well it is WAY past the time I wanted to go to bed. I am hopping to go to Cold Springs tomorow and finish some ATCs. I started a series of ones in a dif. style than I have done before and I really like them. It will be hard to give them away :)

Doing Good but Still Behind

I have been working out more and getting a bit of art done, nothing finished though. The new Cappuccino True Colors II journal still needs a lot of work and It is due Wed.. I will not have it done by then. Also Wed., I am in an ATC live swap and I only have 4 done :( I will try to do a couple tonight. I still have not gotten any of the jewelry done that I needed to get done by the end of Dec. (big sigh) I do not feel like I can get to my desk to accomplish anything. I had plans to get some stuff done tonight, but I just got back from the gym at 9pm and it is now 9:30. I did not get enough sleep last night and need to shower. I should just go to bed right now. I need just one or two more hours in a day to finish stuff. Tommorow is not looking good either. My sched. at work goes until 5:20 and then I will pick up Donn, drive him to his car, pick up side dishes for dinner, make dinner, and then do art? Oh boy. I am afraid I will be cleaning and helping Donn pack all next weekend. Geeez Where is the ME time? Well, now I exhausted myself... Shower and Bed it is! Late...

Another Weekend Approaches

Last weekend went well, but I do not feel rested. I swear if is not one thing... Anyway, back to a bit of kaos. Donn will be moving to Shasta in March sometime, I will stay behind. I am only thinking possitive things. This could be just what Donn and I need to get back on track. I am going to get a lot accomplished.
Enough of all that, back to the nearer future. Donn and I are going to Jalama beach this Sat. We are looking foreward to it. I cannot believe he has never been. I am sooo looking foreward to a Jalama Burger! More packing and cleaning this weekend. Donn might add some stuff to his car at my parent's house. I hope to work on his ring some more and get some ATCs done. We should be getting DSL set up tonight too. I am hoping for some good sleeping in time too. I hope Anna's job interview went well. They would be fools not to hire her!! It was very good to see her, I will prob. be able to visit her more after March, that will be nice.
Well Thur. is half gone and so is my lunch time.

OK, Life change is on hold..waiting for further notice

Doing good. Daylight is lasting longer which puts me in a better mood. I have lots of plans for tomorrow, lets see how far I get before running out of steam. I have given myself a schedule to go by, we will see if that helps. Anna shuld be here this weekend. I am looking foreward to that. I am feeling inspired again (probably due to all the house work I need to do). My dryer has died so I will be making a few trips to Mom's house. Donn has re-arranged the front room. It is cozy, I am getting used to it. It will be nicer when all the boxes are gone. We are trying to box up or get rid of all the clutter in the house. Donn will move some of it up to his house and/or storrage to free up our lives a bit. It is hard to do with both of us in the house, so I have a lot to do tomorrow and the rest will have to get done on the weekend with him there. I am already starting to get worn out just thinking about it. I will let you know if anything got done.

Here it is...2006

I did not finish my goals for December...oh well. I did not think of any new year resolutions, but it looks like I will have a major life change coming up soon and I have lots of plans which sound a lot like resolutions. I will be able to work out more, I am hopping to get more art work done, and spend more time with my parents (haha inside joke). I will have extreme stress for a month or so, then some calm (hopefully if everything at work goes well) and then...well that all depends on money and stuff. I am sure it will all work out like it is supposed to, I just hope I do not go insane in the process. Happy New Year? It could happen.

Christmas is Over

I just got back from 3 days at the in-laws. Had a good Christmas. It was great to see everyone. It has been a while since I had made it up there (I do not get a lot of time off). Donn is still up there. He went to hang out at our house. I sure wish I could be there with him. I am hoping to make it up there on my one vacation for next year. Now that the holidays are done, I only have a few projects to finish. My computer is about shot though, so I need to call and see if I can breath some more life into it. Donn is getting a new one, but I am sure he will limit my time on it so I want to keep this one going. I received a new Nano I-Pod as a bonus and want to get that up and running. It is killing me to have to wait, but my computer, as is, cannot generate enough memory to open i-tunes. I am hopping I will only have to add a couple RAM chips and all will be well. Cross your fingers for me!! I am also needing to finish the pink and orange true colors II journal by Jan 2nd. Okay...My mind is racing with all the other things that need to get done, so I better stop before the stress sets in again.

So Crazy

Christmas is 9-10 days away...what now!! I have so many Christmas cards to finish and gifts to make and orders to fill. My silver order has not gotten here yet. It better, or I am in trouble! Work is exhausting. Two crazy clients that I wish lived farther away! I need a vacation. This 3 day stuff just is not going to be enough for me. Same old same old. Oh well. Back to the grind.

Oh My Gosh it is already December!!

The art show went great! I just sent out the next True Colors II journal. Turquoise was the color of this one. I did "turqoise water". I was going to have a mermaid in the center of it, but could not get myself to do something that so many others have already done, so I put a hammerhead shark in the middle instead. I really like the way it came out. I took some pictures and should try and load those up. We will see... I still feel a bit overwhelmed with A couple jewelry orders for Christmas, Christmas cards to make, and gifts to make or buy. Man (sigh) when will there be some me time to just play a few video games and put a model together? I gotta go...Bye
